Website Build Project Management
We know what it’s like to get a website built, right?
The Usual Story — It Goes a Little Somethin’ Like This…
Let’s say you’re the business owner, director, CEO or similar — you understand the importance of having a well-made digital asset, but you’re busy.
Next, you sign on the dotted line for getting a website job done, and before you know it — daily (sometimes more) phone calls, emails and other communications from technical folk like SEO strategists, web developers, hosting companies and more.
And you have no idea what they are asking regarding your website, nor do you have the time to figure it out and reply. Then, the project’s timeline blows out beyond sensible because nobody is helping anyone to help them.
This is where Gumbo’s website project management service comes in.
I’ll Take the Reins For a While — Live in Five (Steps)
Let me be your temporary in-house coordinator. Here’s the process for website builds and overhauls:
Scoping session — a 2 hour meet-up to gather what is required for your website as well as critical product or service information from you.
Site structure — I identify the biggest priorities for your company online.
But more importantly, I identify what your target market is searching for, and devise a sitemap/structure around that. And if SEO is a big deal for your site, keyword research is done.
Talent pooling and the hard yakka — once site structure is signed off, Gumbo’s got this. I find the talent necessary to design and build your website, and work closely with them until it’s done based on best practices. More details below*.
Review stage — you’re given some time to review the website before ‘going live’ with it. You get one round of changes (remember, a website is a living thing that evolves!).
Go live — we organise hosting, email setup and push it into the world.
*More ‘Step 3’ Nitty-Gritty:
Create draft written content for you to sign off on. This document is then converted into a design brief.
Utilise a web designer, developer (or someone who can do both) from my network—or brief a team member of yours—and get cracking on it.
I coordinate all correspondence during the build, and only contact you with critical questions about it. But really, you’re likely to be just running your business during this time. Again, Gumbo’s got this!
